Background
.................Bangsai Arts and Crafts Village
is part of the Bangsai Arts
and Crafts Centre of The "SUPPORT" Foundation of Her Majesty Queen
Sirikit. The Village was Established and donated to the Foundation by the
Tourism Authority of Thailand since 1995 to serve as a permanent showcase
of tradition Thai houses, folk arts and crafts, way of life and culture
of the four-regions rarely seen elsewhere. Renovation and redecoration were
later done and added in 1999 to enhance scenic beauty to the Village's environment
with landscape, a lake and tropical gardens.
Thai Style Houses
..........Consisting of 21wooden houses [teak
and red wood] built in 4 different structures demonstratin differences of
the 4 regions of Thailand in their distinctive characteristics in line with
geography, climate, religion, belief and local trends.
The Diversified Attractions
............With renovation and redecoration,
the Village has been designed and modified to show the different
distinction of each region. For instances, the Northern area will present
a waterfall and
mound while the Northeastern part will have a higher elevation. Each area
of the 4 region displays its local trees, bushes, decorative flower and vegetable
gardens. Even miniature rice fields can be seenwithin the premises. It, therefore,
can be said that the Arts and Crafts Village is in a small hub ofa variety
of plants from all over Thailand.

Old Day living of 4 Regions
............Apart from demonstration of different
Thai style sceneric environments among the 4 regions village, we proudly present
the interior decoration of each house with displays of decorative pieces for
daily use and daily livings, amongwhich are cooking utensils, tools and items
including the knowledge used for survival. All items are in ready-for-use
condition and placed in the similar position as therr were people living inside
the houses. Tourists and visitors are welcomed to touch and try out the use
at any time.
Local Handicraft Demonstration

In addition
to the impressive display of the graceful charac-teristic distinction of Thai
architecture the spaces under the houses of each region display and demonstration
of local arts and crafts products of their regions daily between 08.30 --
17.00 hours.
